Very good command of the language. Highly expressive, fluent, accurate and appropriate language: hardly any inaccuracies. Very good understanding of language and contexts. Functions extremely well in the language.

HAH! thats ME!!! yes Me. I, justine, function extremely well in the language. 1 out of the 2 people in the school to get a band 6. i WAS surprised. (psst here;s a little secret, i just realised that i got a B in my triple one 9 for spm after recently getting the spm official cert) HAH! sUCKS to spm 1119 english paper!
there have actually been people suggesting that i go in for writing and english related stuff, but i just DON'T like writing very much.

Our CF hIGH Praise is this friday, yes THIS FRIDAY!.

School Holidays in general refer to certain favorable days of the year where students like me are released from their tedious daily routines of attending schools or any other such venerable institutes of learning. These holidays are precious and highly anticipated by the majority of overworked students looking forward to the relief of finally having some extra time at hand. There are various beneficial ways of spending these precious school holidays but I do not agree that taking up a job during the holidays is beneficial to a student.
First and foremost, students these days are expected to excel academically as well as in co curricular activities. The burden and responsibility towards fulfilling the high standards and qualifications required to build the way to success leaves little time to waste in taking up a job during the holidays. Furthermore, students, expecially those in the higher forms or more advanced level of study will need more time for preparation and to catch up with their studies. Needless to say, these students deserve a time off as well from their hectic schedules. Working daily for a pittance really isn’t beneficial as these students might end up feeling worned and fatigued despite having had a ‘holiday’.
Jobs commonly available to students on holiday are usually found in restaurants, cafes, and retail shops. These jobs as anyone can tell you are usually tedious and boring and thus exhausting. Students should instead spend their holidays in a more relaxing way enabling themselves to be truly rested in preparation for the new school term ahead. Although granted that working experience may be favourable in the sense that students are able to work on their soft skills as well as undergo exposure , it is undeniable that co curricular activities are able to offer such benefits as well. Moreover, students could volunteer to do community service instead which would enable one to truly make a difference and to help those in need with a helping hand.
Overexposure is one of the dangers to students who jump into the working world at a young age. Working and earning money might appeal more to these students than studying and taking exams hence discouraging them from actively persuing their studies as they should. In addition, there is a risk that these jobs might introduce all sorts of shady characters and bad influences into a young person’s life that otherwise he or she would not have met.
In conclusion, taking up a job during school holidays is really not particularly beneficial to a student. There are various other enjoyable , beneficial pastimes that a student could take part in that would in contrast be more wholesome than taking up a job. As the saying goes, ‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy and Jane a dull girl’.

Our current society is undeniably steep in materialism with more and more people becoming obsessed with money. Materialism, the value of all things material and the fulfillment of hedonistic desires is stringent in our various communities thus shaping our lifestyles and our desire for ‘It all’ with extra emphasis on the ‘all’.
All of us have to spend money on various useful purchases. However, when one begins to attach too much significance to the brand values or so call quality of a particular product or item regardless of cost, materialism begins to rear its ugly head. The ease with which people these days can spend their money is really quite astounding. It appears in fact, that not only the rich are extravagant but the less affluent as well. I know of a friend who literally lived on bread for a month for the sake of purchasing a pair of Levis jeans worth up to 200 ringgit despite many cheaper and more reasonable options in the market. I personally have no problem with my 50 ringgit jeans.
A person who is materialistic is often cynical in the process belittling what I like to call the more meaningful things in life. Materialism provides a whole new answer to the ‘what is really important in life?’ question. Is this answer the right one? Is life really all about money and material things? It is all very well to be rich and have in possession countless expensive things but at the end of it all, I doubt all these would rank high on one’s priority list when one is old, ugly and sick.
Materialism can however act as a driving force in life. This occurs when the importance of having enough money and possessions is so understood and realized that it becomes the purpose of one’s life to achieve a particular financial status. Still, it is pretty brutal. How else would you describe it when a man knowingly cheats his former best friend and partner of his money and renders him bankrupt? Or when a child gets cheated of innocence and life by people involved in human trafficking? When one thinks about it, all sorts of crimes and indecencies of the human character is in some way or other related to materialism. It is this willingness to sacrifice anything and anyone for personal gain that is the ugliest face of materialism.
In moderation, materialism can be beneficial and harmless. It is alright to appreciate the better things in life as long as one is able to live within means. In excess however, materialism is a destructive flaw in one’s character. Let us all remember that there are more important things in life than having the latest electrical gadgets.

yES!!! i managed to get a "high distinction" for the New South Wales English Test! wakakakaka. juz to put it down in record here.. hehe. n iM in the toP one percent of the highest scores in Malaysia. COOL..... xD

worth the 20 bucks i paid for the test.

But..

i stiLL detest writing...

i dO i really do,. i practically never Really LIke what i write.
which is why i don't look back n reread my own stuff. and to be hundred percent honest i never Could see how i managed to get good marks for my essays... my most recent Muet test as an example.> i felt Horrible right after the test Knowing that i screwed up the essay section. the PRecious essay with the most marks. i had the dreaded Writer's Block half waY through the essay PLus with barely enough time for me to finish my lame conclusion, i was suRe i did badly. evEryone was freaking me out with their (i did about 3 pages long.. 2 pages.. 1 and a half pages) n i was Like.. (Serious?? i did juz One Page for the long essay and half page for the intepreting data)

n The moST AMAZING thing...
i got the highest in class for that paper.. AND d teacher cited My Little oLd Essay as Reference for my classmates. *Laughs gLeefully* ok ok there was another two girls who aLso got d same PRaise, haha but the point is i tRuly thought i screwed it up.

but here's the truth.
i tRied reading my essay again, thinking to myself that it somehow Must have been better than what i remembered writing.needless to say.> i am such a deluded fool.. it was...as i remembered. Unsavoury.. but on the Other hand..the essay question requred us to comment on tHis sTatement about how people are becoming Prisoners of technology. Urgh with such a dry begining.. how sAvoury could it get?? however.. i do KNow that My essay wouldn't be caught dead in a magazine or a newspaper

i choose to beLieve God. Yes i do. i believe in his entire Goodness n greatness. no matter how Christians might act. because the church is basically a house of redeemed sinners. the only difference is that we have the greatest reason to be better. i entrust my Life to Him. i know... i kNow he has my back covered. i have no cause to worry because He will provide. aL i have to do.. is to Listen to him.
there is such relief.. to know that There is God who has planned everything for me. who wants to bLess me. a God who knows me entirely and loves me anyway. i don't have to WOrry!

and its not about.. being "hoLY: being "PErfect" .. scoLding other ppL for not being "good enough". its about.. accepting our fellow Christians with aLL their shortcomings. yes i agree.. she's was a bi*c*. wat she did was not a very nice thing to do.. but its not God;s fauLt.
n i think... when we cry.. i think he cries along with us. cuz isn't that what true friends do? they don't just comfort u.. they don't just throw a bible at u and tell u> "hey Read for Peace of Mind". they cry along with you. they empthatise and try to make things better. God is like that.. he's my BFF . its no Christian Crap. its God being the only thing that works in this crappy worLd.

pLease.. don't categorise Me and other Christians in the "Holy type" category. sure.. i'L admit to being suCh a category's existance but the majority of us are juz Nice sort of people. ppL who make mistakes but continue trying to be better for God.
